Green building
Zero-carbon buildings could save energy, the economy and people
Buildings consume more than 45 per cent of overall U.S. energy -- more than even the transportation sector. And heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, or HVAC, accounts for 40 to 60 per cent of the energy used in U.S. commercial and residential buildings (U.S DOE).
The zero-carbon buildings movement aims to:
- Retrofit existing buildings to a higher standard of energy efficiency
- Integrate energy systems that produce at least as much energy as the building's use consumes
- Create beautiful, new homes, offices and developments that are healthy and satisfying to inhabit
- Create millions of green jobs that can't be exported and stimulate the economy.
Antenna is experienced representing companies in HVAC, roofing, building-integrated energy systems, BIPV, lighting and energy monitoring. Antenna founder Melody Haller is both daughter and sister to architects and has renovated a dozen buildings.
