Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3+ years experience developing custom websites on WordPress with a portfolio of 20+ websites built
  • Proficient use of front-end technologies including CSS, JavaScript, HTML, and JavaScript/jQuery
  • Proficient PHP developer for custom theme or plugin development
  • Working knowledge of MySQL and interacting with the WordPress database
  • Knowledge of APIs, Authentication, and integrating with 3rd party services
  • Experience building multilingual, membership and eCommerce (Woocommerce) websites.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, XD) and/or tools like Figma or Sketch.
  • Keen eye for design and attention to detail with experience designing websites and/or designing for other digital mediums.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to see the big picture and identify business goals and objectives to translate through better UI/UX to accomplish client goals.
  • Understanding of SEO principles and applying best practices during site builds
  • Understanding of Accessibility principles and applying best practices during site builds.
  • Excellent communication with internal team members to provide status updates, reliable time estimates and timelines for hitting deadlines.
  • Team leadership skills to share knowledge with other developers on the team and enjoys training others
  • Constantly curious to learn more about web technologies and self motivated to continually be working to grow as a developer.


  • Taking projects from start (designs in sketch or XD) to finish (building out custom WordPress themes and integrating features and functionality).
  • Collaborating with project managers to formulate the best technical implementations to meet client goals.
  • Assisting with the support of existing client websites on WordPress to make updates or troubleshoot issues.
  • On occasion, extending and/or creating own custom plugins for WordPress that interact with various different APIs.
  • Assisting PM’s on going live with sites and working with clients IT departments instructing them on DNS management.
