Overview
Antenna Group partnered with August Jackson and their client Duke University to bring their 2020 commencement ceremony into a virtual environment. Working together, August Jackson interfaced with the client to design an online experience that would provide everyone at home an interactive experience to connect with their alma mater as if they attended in person. With videos from the president of Duke University and addresses from the likes of comedian Ken Jeong and others, Duke undergraduate and graduates were able to experience graduation in an exciting new way.
With only a few weeks to build out this unique online virtual experience, Antenna Group’s team of in-house developers got to work custom building the solution from the ground up. The site was designed in a way to be interactive yet meet Duke University’s strict accessibility guidelines of being WCAG AA compliant. In addition, Antenna Group built the site using WordPress CMS to allow for August Jackson and Duke University to be able to manage the different content types across the site and control the site during the ceremony.
