Overview
El Espacio 23 (EE23) – the private art space founded by leading philanthropist, real estate entrepreneur, and art collector Jorge M. Pérez – was preparing for the debut of its third show during Art Basel Miami Beach 2022: You Know Who You Are, Recent Acquisitions of Cuban Art from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection. On its own, the show’s powerful subject matter presented a strong media opportunity; however, the current complex socio-economic and political landscape (a renewed Cold War, Miami’s ongoing boom) gave Antenna Group the opportunity to dramatically boost press interest.
Situation
Antenna optimized this “perfect storm” to solidify EE23 as Miami’s premier private art space and further cement Jorge Pérez and his team as the region’s preeminent cultural ambassadors. Additionally, Antenna drove positive publicity for Hr. Perez, EE23 and the overarching Related Group organization.
Approach
To maximize awareness and impact, Antenna took a multi-pronged approach to media outreach comprising an in-depth, standalone exclusive with The Miami Herald, embargoed press previews, wide press release distribution, features and profiles spanning various topics, and press tours during Miami Art Week / Art Basel.
